A limited right to torture: US decided to partner with several "axis of evil" countries to bar part of the UN convention against Torture. After all, under the pretend of protecting the interests of his fellow citizens, Georges W. Bush seems ready to vote with the usuals suspects (China, Cuba, Egypt, Saudi Arabia).

A major event for SPAM-fighters: Europe bans SPAM: The European Parliament just voted to ban all SPAM. The European Directive - to be fully applicable in about a year - will make illegal all commercial e-mail sent without a prior agreement of the receiver ("opt-in").

This will not stop SPAM, but it will give weapons to spank European spammers. And this is a very good step in the direction of SPAM management.

Dream dictionary: A dictionary in French and in English (briliantly set by French-speaking Canadians).

SPAM.Anti! The European Parliament starts discussing SPAM regulation: This may be the worst blow against spammers. After the anti-SPAM decision of the European Council on dec 6, 2001, it's time for a vote at the EuroParliament. We may have a fully anti-SPAM legislation in a few weeks.

10 days in September: These are the ten days after the WTC attack. Teh Washington Post is documenting these times of decision in a long series of papers. I recomment their reading even though I understan it's longer than most web papers, it's only in English, it's the point of view of the White House (and not investigative journalism).
