Adobe is trying hard to avoid having Microsoft include a PDF generator in its upcoming Microsoft Office newest desktop suite. They decided that this would be too much a menace against their business model and so told Microsoft that they would fight up to a judge if they tried to put PDF in MS-Office.

In the mean time, OpenOffice is still free and contains a direct PDF generation.
