This is too bad, but apparently this only works on cameras of Minolta design. So, only the Konica-Minolta compacts and SLR cameras and the Sony Alpha series (SLR only again).

Too bad. My Sony DSC-H20 has an ugly hot pixel with is awful when video recording and shooting black frames. Changing the date thing didn’t worked for me, the hot pixel is still there. 🙁

Thanks, thanks a lot, it really works.
As you say this is a simple to keep away those disgusting pixels. I used to have Canon cameras but after having 6 cameras with that issue I decided to change to another brand.
Sony has some dislikes (noise is the main) but I really like its way to fix the hated hot pixels.
