When food is scarce, some species use their own tehcnical abilities to reach where others cannot. Most goats can climb where no other mammal can.

Also, I have seen a snow leopard hunting in such conditons. Both animals have to be very cautious, so it seems a kind of slow motion hunt. However, the goat has limited the kind of predators that could catch it, to only a handful.

Goats are definitely adapted to mountain life.
