A long needed update: HyperBackup from Synology is working marvelously. I use it to store the archives on Amazon Cloud Service and on HuBic with equal ease and equal success.

Important information/update: I encountered significant issues that led to a few changes that are currently under evaluation.

Cloud Drive must not be used with versioning. This is leading to a huge expansion of the used disk space, even without touching to most of the files. I decided to re-install it and to not archive the file versions.

Since this left me without any version protection (quite useful or necessary if I fell prey to some ransomware), I decided to move from Synology Cloud Sync (with Amazon Cloud Drive) to a stronger solution using Synology HyperBackup (also to Amazon Cloud Driver). All the versions are stored on Amazon instead of my DSM.

This is currently building the images. I'll evaluate this here, in a few days.
