Before closing the door on this year, I wanted to celebrate this birthdate with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seas.upenn.edu\/~museum\/\">its museum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seas.upenn.edu\/~museum\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/eniac_today.gif\" alt=\"ENIAC - the computer in the museum\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>All that without forgetting that those of us who are more than 40-year old saw the birth of pocket electronic calculators. With ENIAC, they moved us from a world where calculation was done manually or with a slide rule, into a world where computations are no longer used for adding and multiplying but to communicate together.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The computer that really started the revolution of our societies, ENIAC, officially turned 60 in 2006.
