Parmi tous les manchots des \u00eeles Malouines, il n’y a qu’un roi. Un manchot si hautain, si aristocrate qu’il porte fi\u00e8rement le titre de King penguin<\/em> chez les anglophones et de manchot roayl chez les francophones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il est certainement plus petit que le manchot empereur d’Antarctique, mais il est aussi color\u00e9 (sauf dans sa jeunesse). Il n’est alors qu’une boule de plumes brun\u00e2tres qui ne sait que r\u00e9clamer de la nourriture \u00e0 ses parents. La colonie install\u00e9e \u00e0 Volunteer Point<\/em> est l’endroit parfait pour les rencontrer. Mais il faut y prendre son temps pour avoir les meilleures conditions de lumi\u00e8re (la visite de deux heures \u00e0 l’escale d’un bateau de croisi\u00e8re ne permet qu’\u00e0 peine de se rendre compte de la beaut\u00e9 de ces animaux).<\/p>\n\n\n
