  • What is a Blue Ball machine?

That is the right question to ask. But when you’ll see one (thanks to Manufactured Serendipity), the answer will be obvious. Or maybe not… Blue Ball machine

  • LCD color calibration

I recently installed on my main Windows-PC computer a (rather old) LCD display from Hyundai: ImageQuest Q17. I wanted to improve significantly the correct color calibration. Fortunately, I could get a Pantone ColorVision SpyderPro for the weekend. It was only a matter of minutes to setup the sensor and run the calibration process. Everything goes…

  • Fireworks as art

    Fireworks as art

Rosemarie Fiore is an artist producing abstract art that I like a lot, but she is definitely using a weird technique: Exploding fireworks over the paper, containing them in a way that still leaves space for rich colours pouring over the surface. I had been advising to use PDF Creator to produce PDF files from any program under Windows. It appears that the product does not work with Vista. It would extend the possibility of commenting posts with even more freedom since people could even talk to each other on issues choosen quite freely. Requirements For this,I started to check what solutions are available for…

These feeds allow some people already to browse quickly the contents of the web site without even being connected and allow to be automatically informed of new posts and changes straight from their browsers of some news/feeds aggregating sites likeBlogLines, MyYahoo!, Google, etc. Good…

  • Office 2007 only loves French

We’re French, we’re finding this funny. Microsoft just confirmed that the installation of MS-Office 2007 rudely removes all non-French Outlook Express spelling checkers (why keep the French one?). I guess most non-French speaking people don’t like it since Microsoft does not seem to have a solution.

  • WordPress 2.1.1 – Important security advice

If you have installed WordPress v2.1.1 (precisely this version), you should urgently download the version 2.1.2. A cracker succeeded in inserting a malicious code in the downloadable copy of this version and it means that your web site may be open to a vicious attack. Do not wait and check the WordPress web site.
