Despite its name, this large lizard can be found in white, yellow or green colours. This one was nearly perfectly black and white.

    this is actually an argentine black and white tegu. the golden or “columbian” has only one scale between the eyes and nose this one has two. also the skin of this tegu is beaded like a gila monster and light in color another sign that its an argentine tegu. golden tegus have a smooth looking scales like a snake would but a little bit rougher.

    Wow, that IS a large lizard. It reminds me of the Komodo.

    Actually, it is much smaller than the Komodo dragon. It’s only about 80cm to 1m long. Big enough already. But shy.

    Actually it’s about 1/2 the size of the Komodo (8-10ft or 3m) the Argentine Tegu a.k.a The Gaint Tegu reaches 4-5ft ( 1.5m) in size
